Collets for Precision Tool Holding

Metal collets are very similar to chucks, but differ in that they are clamped around the tool, while chucks are usually tightened. Benefits of collets for machining operations include:

Collet Nuts for Securing Collets

Collet nuts are used to secure the collet inside the toolholder. The two main categories of collet nuts include slotted and mini. Slotted collet nuts have six slots around the diameter and are installed using a special wrench. The mini collet nut is also slotted, but is much smaller in diameter. Mini-nuts are used in applications where minimal external diameters are important. We supply several variations of collet nuts, including: Collet set

Reduction Sleeves for Increased Versatility

Also known as reduction bushes, reduction sleeves allow chucks to accommodate a greater number of tool diameters. We provide two main types of reduction sleeves:
  • Hydraulic holder reduction sleeves are self-sealing to support high-precision clamping of straight cylindrical cutting tool shanks.
  • Milling chuck reduction sleeves are the standard for milling chucks. Our selection from Techniks provides up to 5x the gripping force of other reduction sleeves on the market.
